Kentucky Clinical Research Studies

Kentucky Medical Research Center: This facility is based in Lexington, Kentucky. Kentucky Medical Research Center does research for both phase 1 drug and patient volunteer studies (they also do for phase 2, 3 and 4). Phase 1 medical drug studies require healthy test subjects and are the type of drug trials that pay the most. You can see a list if the current Kentucky Medical Research Center studies available here.

Kentucky Medical Research Center is currently the only clinical research facility of which we are aware of in Kentucky at this time. If you are familiar with other research centers or hospitals that conduct trials, please contact us so we can add them to our list.

If you are looking to make money doing clinical research studies, the ones that pay the most require healthy individuals to participate. These initial clinical studies are seeking individuals who do not have the disease or condition for which the drug being tested and for which it will eventual treat. The initial studies are important as they give vital information regarding the time it takes the drug being tested to enter and leave the body, allows to determine any side effects which may occur, and helps to determine what the maximum dosage for the drug being tested should be. In addition, the initial research trial can also help answer the question of why a particular drug ends up affecting different people in different ways.

In addition to Phase 1 studies, there are usually a large number of Phase 2 - 4 clinical studies, but these studies usually require individuals with the particular ailment or disease which the drug being tested is attempting to counteract. Many of these trials are administered at universities and can be found advertised in local papers. While there is usually a small payment made to the participants in these studies, the compensation is far less than for the Phase 1 studies since these trials are often seen a beneficial to the participants.
