The clinical research studies that pay the most will seek healthy individuals to participate. In other words, these clinical studies want individuals who do not have the disease or condition which the drug being tested will eventual treat. These initial studies are completed to get vital information about how long it takes the drug to enter and leave the body, record any side effects that may occur and to determine the maximum dosage for the drug being tested. In addition, the research trial may also study why a particular drug affects different people in different ways.
There are also many more Phase 2 and later clinical studies, but these studies usually are looking for individuals with the particular ailment that the drug is trying to counteract. Many of these are done at universities and can be found advertised in local papers. While a small amount will usually be paid to participate in these studies, the amount is far less than the phase 1 studies because these trials are seen a potentially beneficial to the participants.Previous: Alaska Clinical Studies | Next: Arkansas Clinical Studies
